Because of these many benefits, forest projects can be attractive for organizations to deliver on ESG targets and societal agendas.

While forests may seem like an environmental multitool, it is crucial to carefully consider which forest projects to engage with, as they can have very different impacts on different targets. Forests and
Greenhouse Gas Accounting

Companies are showing an increasing interest in the voluntary carbon market, where companies offset residual emissions by purchasing offsets (also known as carbon credits, climate credits, CO2 credits, etc.). Offsets are generated by projects that either remove and store atmospheric greenhouse gases or reduce emissions. With much debate over the integrity of offsets, more trust has shifted towards offsets from so-called nature-based removal projects, such as afforestation projects where new forests are established on land that was not previously forested By selecting high-integrity offsets from the right projects, companies can support climate action with confidence and reduce their risks of greenwashing.
